The Assessor’s Office administers the property tax laws of the State of Michigan. The Assessor prepares the assessment roll for all non-exempt properties in the City. A 'Notice of Assessed Value' for property is mailed on an annual basis in late February. True cash value (TCV) of each taxable property is determined each year within the City. Every taxable property is assessed at approximately 50% of the TCV.
