Summer 2021 Recreation Programs for Youth

To register please visit Marysville Recreation Department located in Marysville Community Center during normal business hours at 867 E. Huron Blvd. or register online.  Please note you must first create an account when registering online.

Marysville Recreation Department follows current COVID-19 safety guidelines, including but not limited to social distancing measures, limiting group sizes and wearing of face masks by participants and staff.

Playground Program at Marysville City Park

Marysville Recreation Department invites your children ages six through 12 to participate in our playground program at our city park.  This program includes board games, arts and crafts, imaginative games, playground games, individual and team sports, fitness, education, splash pad, adventures and more!  Children are encourage to bring a sack lunch.  Every day will begin at Pavilion #5.

Session I: June 21 – July 15
Days: Monday – Thursday
Time: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Fee: $75 resident/$100 non-resident

Session II: July 19 – August 12
Days: Monday – Thursday
Time: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Fee: $75 resident/$100 non-resident


Instructors will help players develop the basic fundamentals of passing shooting, dribbling and defense through the combination of drills and games.

Dates: June 22 – July 29
Days: Tuesday & Thursday
Location: Marysville City Park Basketball Court
5 – 8; 1 – 1:50 p.m.
9 – 14; 2 – 2:50 p.m.
Cost: $30 resident/$45 non-resident

Junior Golf League

Golfers must have some basic playing skills and ability to advance the ball with regularity.  This is for more advanced golfers who are ready to take their golf game to the next level.  All golfers must wear a collared shirt and proper footwear (no flip flops, sandals or Crocs).  Limited to 50 golfers.

Ages: 9 – 16

Outdoor Volleyball

This program is designed to teach the basic skills of volleyball through fun drills and competitions along with game situations.  Great way to keep your skills sharp for the upcoming season!

Dates: June 21 – July 28
Days: Monday & Wednesday
Location: Marysville City Park Open Field
5 – 8; 11 – 11:50 a.m.
9 – 14; 12 – 12:50 p.m.


Fun drills and scrimmages will teach the players how to pass, dribble and properly kick.

Location: Morton Park SC4 Soccer Field
3 – 5; 9 – 9:25 a.m. (Monday or Wednesday)
6 – 8;  9:30 – 10:15 a.m.
9 – 12; 10:30 – 11:15 a.m.


Staff will lead youth players through the basic fundamentals of football through drills and exercises.  This will lead into a flag football game.

9 – 14; 11:15 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Sporties for Shorties

Introduce your son or daughter to different sports and learning basic fundamentals.  The sports they in which they will participate are as follows: basketball; football; soccer; t-ball; tennis; and track & field.  For ages three through six with a maximum of 30 in each class.  First class will be held at Marysville City Park basketball court.

Days: Fridays
Location: Marysville City Park
Session I: 9 – 9:30 a.m.
Session II: 9:45 – 10:15 a.m.
Session III: 10:30 – 11 a.m.
Cost: $30/residents; $45/non-residents

Crafty Kids

Every week children ages two through six will read a new children’s book and then make a related craft.  This class is great for encouraging your child’s creative side while also teaching them to love reading.  Older children will get a chance to make a variety of fun crafts that harness their creativity and individuality.

Wednesday; 4 – 6

Time: 9 – 9:45 a.m.
Cost: $30/residents; $45 non-residents


The coaching staff will teach the basic fundamentals to each level, including batting, throwing, catching, fielding, base running and rules of the game.  This program is open to all levels.

5 – 6; 9:30 – 9:55 a.m. (Tuesday & Thursday)

Y on the Fly

The ‘Y on the Fly’ van is back!  Try out a new sport or join in for safe and FREE play during Y on the Fly.  Trained and caring Y staff are coming to our community to provide active opportunities for kids and young teens.  This program is brought to you by SportPort and the Bluewater YMCA.  For more information visit


SportPort is an equipment lending program that makes obtaining sports equipment as easy as checking out a library book.  Kids and adults can check out FREE sports equipment at Marysville Community Center.  All we ask is that you return it so that others can use it too.  All equipment will be sanitized between rentals following CDC guidelines. 

Current sports equipment available: basketballs, volleyballs, footballs, flag football kits, soccer balls and nets, baseballs/softballs and gloves and pickleball paddles and balls.
