2019 Summer Youth Programs

Open Recreation

Morton Elementary School is available this winter and spring for drop in basketball and volleyball.  This program is open to people (16 & older) and children with adult supervision.  Please enter school through the front door.  Our Facebook page (Marysville Recreation Department) will list cancellations should they occur.

When: now through the end of May 2019

  • Tuesday – basketball
  • Thursday – volleyball

Time: 7:30 – 9 p.m.
Cost: daily fee – $2 per resident; $4 per non-resident. Season passes: individual – $30/resident/ $60 non-resident; family – $50/resident/ $100 non-resident
Where: Morton Elementary School, 920 Lynwood

Teen Volunteer Program

Teens will have the opportunity to get work experience while developing good work habits and giving back to their community.  Volunteers are needed to assist with sports programs, aquatics, playground and special events.  All volunteers receive a t-shirt and great work experience.  Applications are due by Friday, May 31, 2019.  Volunteers must attend orientation which will be held on Friday, June 13th at 2 p.m.  Applications available in the Recreation Department or at the link below.

NEW! Friday Fun Days

This summer the Recreation Department has coordinated some super fun, close-to-home activities for kids ages 7—14. Pre-registration is required and activities are weather permitting. Forty kids maximum per event date. Fees for each date are $20 (resident); $30 (non-resident). Activities will be held in Marysville City Park and are as follows:

  • Dodge Ball (June 21)
  • Junior Olympics (June 28)
  • Nerf War (July 12—bring own Nerf guns & ammo)
  • Splash Day (July 19—hillside water slide!)

Marysville Recreation Band Camp

Band camp for middle schoolers is back by popular demand. Rehearsals are twice weekly and students must have their own instruments* and accessories. Concerts will be held on Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m. A minimum of 10 students per grade is required.

When:     Tuesday & Thursday; June 18—July 16
Time:        6—7 p.m. (6th grade); 7—8 p.m. (7th/8th grade)
Where:    Marysville Community Center
Fees: $25 (resident); $35 (non-resident)

*If students do not have instruments, please contact your band director for information on checking out instruments for the summer.

Playground Program at the City Park

The Recreation Department invites your children ages six—12 to participate in our playground program. Activities include board games, arts and crafts, imaginative games, playground games, individual and team sports, fitness, splash pad and more! Kids are encouraged to bring a sack lunch.

When:

Session 1: Monday—Thursday, June 17—July 25
$75 (resident); $100 (non-resident)

Session 2: Monday—Thursday, July 29—August 22
$50 (resident); $75 (non-resident)

Time: 11 a.m.—4 p.m.
Where: Marysville City Park Pavilion #5

Swim Team

The swim team is for boys and girls ages 6 – 18 years old living in the Marysville School District.  All practices are Monday through Thursday with swim meets being held on Fridays for all age groups.  Swimmers MUST attend at least two practices a week to participate in the swim meets.  All participants must be able to swim one length of the pool in any stroke and will be tested on the first day.  The swim team is limited to 100 kids, swim meets 50.

Dates: June 17 – July 26
Cost: $75/resident; $100 non-resident
Location: Marysville High School pool
Practice Times: 1 – 2 p.m. (ages 6 – 10); 2 – 3 (ages 11 – 18)
